Pacific Crest Trail The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail extends 2,638 miles from Canada to Mexico. In California the trail begins at the California-Oregon border south of Observation Peak in the Siskiyou Mountain Range, and ends at the Mexican border near Campo. It passes through 14 national forests, 6 national parks, 4 state parks, and 16 wilderness areas in California. The trail was established as part of the National System of Recreational and Scenic Trails by the National Trails System Act of 1968.
